Riding to Cusco

Heading from the coast up into the mountains


Well over 10k feet and the temperature has dropped at least 40 degrees from what it was at the coast.


A lake at over 15k feet in the Alto Plano of  Peru. It's still incredibly cold but with my grip heaters and electric vest I'm staying reasonably comfortable. The bike quits pretending to make power however once you pass13k feet.


Still cruising on the high plains


Fortunately after a hundred miles the road dropped into a valley which it followed most of the way to Cusco and the temperature became quite comfortable.


Still heading to Cusco on some incredibly dull roads ;-)
