Washington, D.C.

After spending a couple of nights in New Orleans I stopped Mobile, Alabama to recover from the time I had spent in New Orleans. Once recovered I made my way towards Key West by travelling along the western coast of Florida. Key West was quite entertaining but travelling in Florida by motorcycle basically stinks. It seems that 90% of the coast has been developed and the traffic is pretty awful at all hours of the day. After leaving Key West it seemed to me that the last goal left was to make it back to D.C. by the 15th so I pretty much cruised straight back home on various two lane roads with a very brief tour of Savannah, Georgia.

The trip was awesome and I saw a lot of very cool places and met a lot of interesting people. I covered a total of 23,762 miles and missed visiting the majority of the U.S.A. of I still have a lot of virgin territory to cover. I figure the operating expenses for the VFR in this time was just over $2,100 (Gas ~$800, Tires ~$600, Service ~$600). My operating expenses were significantly higher.

I would like to thank all the people who I met on the trip as well as those who offered me there hospitality but which I couldn't meet.

Heading towards Terra Del Fuego (Soon).
